Why it matters
Before people call a local business, they check its Google profile. Here is what local search research says they look for.

Sound familiar?
Most profiles fall behind for the same three reasons.
Wrong hours, missing services or the wrong category make it harder for Google to match you to searches, and give customers a reason to pick someone else.
When your name, address and phone number differ across Google, Apple Maps, your website and directories, Google and AI tools get mixed signals about which version is right.
Old photos, unanswered reviews and no recent activity tell customers you might not be paying attention. Your competitors' profiles look busier, so they get the call.
Audit, fix the foundation, then track and improve every month. You work directly with Chantz and his team the whole way.
A 30-minute call with Chantz and the team. We review your Google Business Profile, your website, your listings and the competitors showing up ahead of you. You leave with a clear plan.
We fix your business details, set the right primary and secondary categories, list your services, write a keyword-optimized description and clean up your citations so your name, address and phone match everywhere.
We set up automated review requests after every job, reply to every review and add new photos from your real jobs every month. Steady reviews build trust with customers and are part of how Google judges prominence.
We plan and improve service and location pages on your website and keep you listed on Apple Maps, AI tools and the directories that matter, so every source tells the same story.
We track where you show up across your service area and your local competitors, then send a plain-English report on calls, direction requests, website clicks and reviews.

Local SEO focuses on searches tied to a location: Google Maps, "near me" searches and city-specific results. Regular SEO covers broader organic rankings for your services and topics. Most local businesses should win their area first.
No. Nobody controls Google's rankings, and Google says there is no way to pay for a better local ranking. We control the work: accurate details, categories, reviews, photos, listings and local pages. Then we report the results every month.
Not always. We start with your current site and profile. If your website is holding back your local visibility, we'll tell you on the call and show you what needs to change.
We review your Google Business Profile, website, local listings and competitors, walk you through the biggest gaps and recommend a next step. You leave with a clear plan, whether or not you hire us.
No. We're based in Savannah, GA, and work with local businesses in Brunswick, Charleston, Hilton Head Island and Bluffton, plus clients outside the Southeast.
When someone searches for a plumber, a roofer or a dentist nearby, the first thing they usually see is a map with three businesses on it. Each one is a Google Business Profile: your name, reviews, photos, hours and a button to call. For many local customers, that profile is the first impression of your business, and often the only one before they pick up the phone.
This guide covers how Google decides which businesses to show, what Google Business Profile optimization includes, how reviews and photos fit in, and what to ask before you hire someone to manage your profile. It comes from the local SEO work our team at High Tide Marketing, a veteran-owned agency in Savannah, GA, does for service businesses.
Customers notice when details are wrong. BrightLocal's 2023 Local Business Discovery and Trust Report found that 62% of consumers would avoid a business if they found incorrect information online. In BrightLocal's 2026 Consumer Search Behavior study, the top things people look for when choosing a local business were clear, complete information (32%), the best or most reviews (30%) and clear pricing (29%).
Google says local results are based mainly on three things: relevance, distance and prominence. Relevance is how well your profile matches the search. Distance is how far you are from the person searching. Prominence is how well known your business is, including reviews and links from other sites. Google also says businesses with complete and accurate information are more likely to show up, and that you can't pay for a better local ranking. You can't change distance, so good optimization works on the other two.
Google's own guidance says more reviews and positive ratings can help your local ranking, and that replying shows customers you value their feedback. Ask every satisfied customer, make it easy with a direct link, and never buy or filter reviews. Reply to negative reviews calmly and offer to make it right. Future customers read those replies.
AI assistants now answer "who should I call" questions too, and they don't always get the details right. The SOCi 2026 Local Visibility Index found that only 68% of business contact information on ChatGPT and Perplexity matched the business's Google Business Profile. Keeping your details consistent across your profile, your website and other listings gives these tools one clear version of the truth.
Your profile gets you on the map. Your website backs it up. Service pages and location pages for the areas you cover give Google more reasons to trust your relevance, and give customers a place to learn more before they call. That's why we pair profile management with on-page work on your site. If your site needs a rebuild first, see our website design services. For the full picture of rankings, content and links, see our SEO services.
Fixing details and categories can help quickly, but reviews, photos and local pages build over months. Most businesses get the strongest value by giving the work six months or longer to compound. Be wary of anyone who promises a map position. Nobody controls Google's rankings.
You work directly with Chantz and a tight-knit team with more than 20 years of combined experience. We handle the profile, the listings and the website pages together, and we report the actions that matter in plain English. If you're local, see Google Business Profile management in Savannah, GA or in Brunswick, GA. We also work with businesses in Charleston, Hilton Head Island and Bluffton.
